Chapters 7 & 8

I kept my informational website in mind as I read chapters 7 and 8. I found chapter 7 especially helpful with its emphasis on the need to know your project's business context, data, and users. I also liked how it broke the informational goals into 6 techniques--helped me keep things straight in my mind. I learned from the sections on search engines because I rely a lot on them to research and realized that tagging websites correctly helped them receive more traffic, something that can't help but make a website more successful.

  1. I agree, i didn't understand that tagging your website correctly could ensure more hits. Useful little tidbit of information since, personally i find tags kinda pointless, i rarely if ever have my cursor over something long enough for them to pop up.

  2. I am not really familiar with the whole tagging thing, but it sure was interesting to know that tagging your website could increase visitors.

  3. moreso with the idea to 'sell' something, in this case, the web author's information, thus all necessary bases need to be covered here other than business context, goals, data, user, and so on. controlling key words or even using words in your titles and/or slogan can ensure an increased number of users to serve its purpose.
