Chapters 3 & 4

I find it interesting that they focus on flowcharts as one of the main technical skills. I didn't know that the flowcharts would be one of the essentials for the interactive writer. To be a good designer, I would think that you would definitely have to be organized. It is amazing to me how many people are and get involved with design. Each person has such an intricate part that will pull the final piece together. It's like a puzzle.

  1. Yeah I thought that that was interesting about the flowcharts and how you relate everyone to a puzzle. :)

  2. I find that really interesting too. Like i said in my own post, i'm a real "wing it" type of guy. Planning definitely isn't my forte, and i think that it'll take some getting used to be able to plan and use flowcharts effectively.

  3. i agree. and just in case one gets employed in a company that would require multimedia and interactive writing, all the more we want to tap (or maybe develop) our organizational skills. using specific software and applying multi-platforms to deliver the message may seem a bit overwhelming at times (let's just hope a certain company is big enough to have a whole team working on the more tech-y stuff), but the key is to go back and re-assess one's communicative or interactive goal if only to bring back some sense of focus to the project. flowcharts, or outlines, or the 1-2 page proposals will really help in this regard.

  4. I guess the more organized a person is (through) flowcharts, outlines, wireframes, . . .,) the more successful the multimedia project will be--especially since they are so intricate.
